An equalizer is useful for fine-tuning sound at various stages in your effects chain.  Many mass produced commercial examples use slide pots, which allow you to squeeze in equalization over more bands into a small enclosure, but do you really need 7+ bands of adjustment?

DIY Buffered Splitter Pedal

A two way splitter is handy to have in the pedal toolbox.  You could of course buy one… but where is the fun in that?  I decided to make on based on a simple tagboard layout from Tagboard Effects.  The buffered splitter design comes from AMZ Effects, it’s straightforward to make and sounds good.

DIY Buffer Pedal

diy-buffer-pedal-on-boardA few years ago I decided to build a buffer pedal.  If you have too many true-bypass pedals in your signal chain, these are a great utility to have around.  The circuit I decided to use was based on the buffer from the Klon Centaur, using a layout from Tagboard Effects.
